Duck and Cover at the Internet Archive

With all the news about the continued nuclear threat from N Korea, it’s not a bad idea to brush up on your safety with a classic government film - Duck and Cover. Enjoy the sing-songy music that accompanies the propaganda instructions that were created by the FCDA, the Homeland Security Department of its day.

Older people will help us like they always do. (????????)

You’d have to been around in the 1950’s and 60’s to know how serious people took these types of films. It is better to feel like there is something you can do to avoid annihilation and if dodging a nuclear blast, by diving under your desk, made you feel better and it theoretically increased your chances of survival, then by gum you did it. So don’t forget to Duck and Cover like Bert the Turtle and don’t confuse this with Duct and Cover.
