Mr. Toast’s Imaginary World looks a little like the real world except it is populated by talking eggs and loud mouth lemons. I first saw Dan Goodsell’s work when I went to the Comic-Con International: San Diego earlier this year. I like his simple styled and comical drawings that reminded me of “golden age” comics and the art is just plain fun to look at. His work includes illustration, painting and 3D objects. The basis of his work is a fictional place called the Imaginary World which is inhabited by an odd assortment of characters including Mr. Toast, Joe the Egg, the Lemonhead and Dr Encyclopedia, just to name a few.

“Dan Goodsell’s artwork charms the heck out of us, and not just because his character Mr. Toast reminds us of the legendary Milk & Cheese (in looks, not behaviors).” - USA Today Online

Visit his site and check out his biweekly comic and stories online. There are also 50s animated commercials images, old newspaper food ads, old food packages, premiums, store displays, and the vintage supermarket photos. Lots of stuff to look through and enjoy.
